SBA is sponsoring a Community Service Day to allow students to give back to the community and learn more about some of the fun and interesting volunteer opportunities available in Cincinnati.
The day will include volunteering at local charities, including events such as park clean-up for the Cincinnati Recreation Commission; working with youth at Elementz, a hip-hop youth arts center in Over-the-Rhine; sorting food at the Foodbank; and many others.
Following the events, volunteers will be rewarded with tasty free beer, food, fun and games. More details to follow.

Please mark your calendars for Saturday, September 8 from noon to 6pm.
The Student Bar Association has reserved the Sandbar beach volleyball courts for a law school sponsored tournament. Beer and soft-drinks will be provided, and the SBA is hoping to have pizza provided as well. Please feel free to bring significant others - especially if they play volleyball! More information will be announced about this event as it gets closer. Ask any of the students that went last year - you won’t want to miss this event!

The beginning of the new school year brings with it new opportunities and new ways to expand our social and cultural horizons through the Student Bar Association and accompanying organizations. That in mind, I look forward to working with my excellent group of SBA officers in providing you with a variety of different programs and events to help enhance your time here at the University of Cincinnati. Check out our calendar for an updated list of what’s coming up this fall. If there are any questions regarding an event, please don’t hesitate to contact me. In the meantime, don’t work too hard, and get ready for a historic 175th year at the UC College of Law.
To give you a quick glimpse of those, here’s what is we have in store:

- 9/8 — The Sandbar Volleyball and Happy Hour

1L Section Representatives are elected in at the begining of the Fall Semester. Watch this page and your email for detail.
Elections for the following year are held every March, with the new officers being installed in April. The Student Bar Association consists of an executive council and a general council. The executive council members are elected by the student body every March. The general council consists of a representative from each of the various student organizations recognized by SBA.

University of Cincinnati College of Law is the fourth oldest continually running law school in the United States and a founding member of the Association of American Law Schools. It was started in 1833 as the Cincinnati Law School. Then-dean and future 27th President of the United States, William Howard Taft (1880), merged it with the University of Cincinnati in 1896.
