Greetings:
Just wanted to remind you all that the Halloween party will be this Saturday at 8pm at Jefferson Hall in Newport on the Levee! Come dressed to compete in our costume contest, where we will be giving away a pair of Barrister’s Ball tickets to the winner (this will save you quite a bit of $$ when Law prom rolls around).
As I stated in my previous message, I would highly recommend taking the bus or a cab since a) it is Halloween night and there will be a lot of crazy drivers out and b) there will be no temptation for you to be one of them. Having said that, cab fare to Newport on the Levee shouldn’t cost anymore than $5-7/person if you split a cab four ways, depending on where you are coming from, and less than that if you have more passengers.
Here are the bus directions as well, coming from Clifton:
Take the METRO 17 18 or 19 bus (or any other Metro bus except 31 41 51) to
Government Square, on Main Street (at the end of government square) walk catch
the TANK SouthBank Shuttle at the bus stop on Main and Fifth. Both Southbank
shuttles stop at this point so be sure to catch the one that says to Newport (not
Covington). It will drop you off at Newport on the Levee. Wait time will be no more
than 15 minutes at any time. It runs until midnight on Friday and Saturday. TANK
Fare is $1.25 per way. Metro fare is free as always.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the SBA officers. We look forward to seeing you there!
