Fellow Sports & Entertainment Law Club-ers –Thanks again for coming out to our first meeting! We really appreciate it. Here’s an update on what’s been going on since then:
Housekeeping
Currently, we are in need of a budget committee to start planning next year’s activities — i.e., speakers, gatherings, events, etc.; that way, when we go to request our budget from SBA next year, we’ll have a really good idea about how much we need/what we need it for . . . and hopefully get more than $190. If you’re interested in participating, just send either myself or Brandon (craigbr@email.uc.edu) an e-mail and we’ll get you in contact with one another.
March Madness
It seems like if the March Madness bracket challenge is going to happen, we’re going to have to do it. Brandon talked to the library staff and they said that the guy who ran the pool last year — and contributed the winning cash prize — isn’t there anymore. So for
those of you who signed up to work on the March Madness/NCAA Tournament event, be expecting a more-detailed e-mail from me on how we can start to get this thing going . . . Selection Sunday is fast approaching. (!!!)
Softball Tournament
We wanted to get your thoughts on the following ideas for the softball tournament:
(a) For the softball games, would you rather have a tournament scenario or a series of four games — i.e., students vs. alums, students vs. faculty, students vs. local attorneys/members of the Cincinnati Bar Association, and UC Law students vs. Chase Law students?
(b) Instead of having a rain date, what do you think about scheduling an alternate, indoor activity for the same day at Sports Plus (www.sportsplusohio.com)?
We are still planning on an April 19 date for the tournament. If you signed up on the list to help out with that, you’ll be getting an e-mail from me shortly about the various things we need to get this thing off the ground. (And if you signed up for helping out with both
events, I’m just going to include you in both e-mails.)
I guess that’s about it. Keep your eyes open for the individual e-mails, and please feel free to e-mail me with any additional comments, ideas, criticisms, etc.
Thanks!
