The rights of enemy combatants at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility

Prof. Mark Denbeaux of Seton Hall Law School and Prof. Michael Lewis of Ohio Northern University, on the rights of enemy combatants at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.

Our visitors will discuss the limits of habeas rights, the rationale for the current scheme for detaining “enemy combatants,” and finally, what interrogation methods should be acceptable. There will also be a question and answer period afterwards.

Chinese food from Red Pepper will be provided for all!

Please plan to attend this event at 4:30 on Monday, March 31st in Room 118. We’re very lucky to have these guests–even a cursory glance at their CVs will show you that they’re among the leaders of their fields–Prof. Lewis is an expert on the law of war, and Prof. Denbeaux’s experience with the detainee situation in particular is unmatched. We really do want to make them feel welcome here at UC.

Remember: 3/31 at 4:30pm, in Room 118!
