UC Law Student Bar Association Officers

President: Antonio Mazzaro

Antonio Mazzaro…was raised by wolves. Brought up suckling at the teat of knowledge, he was accepted by his human family in his early teen years, and stopped walking on all fours by the age of eighteen. He’s at UC Law due to a mixup with the Veterinary College. He hopes to one day be a US Senator.

Vice-President: Bryant Dean

Bryant Dean learned the power of fear as a boy, watching in frozen horror as his parents, two of Cincinnati’s leading citizens, were robbed and murdered by a common thug. At their graves, Bryant swore a solmn vow to avenge their deaths. Relying less upon his billion-dollar inheritance than on his iron will, Bryant traveled the globe, gradually training his mind and body to the peak of human perfection, while studying under the best criminologists, detectives and fighters the world had to offer. Returning home, Bryant took to the streets as a vigilante crimefighter. Despite his skills, however, he lacked an edge, a presence, until a startling omen reminded him of the lesson he’d learned the night his parents died. To be truly effective, he would need more than gadgets and resources. He would have to become a creature of the night–dark, frightening–able to strike terror in the hearts of criminals. As a child, fear was his weakness. As a man, it became his weapon.

Secretary: Gwenn Dobos

Though she is primarily known for her skills on the squash court, Gwenn has also been the host of the classiest parties that UC Law has ever seen. Graduating from Denison University where she was a champion rugby player, this brunette bombshell loves speaking in French and late night photo hunt. One of the founding founders of The Edge fan club, Gwenn’s rendition of Blinded by the Light is something one can only hope to experience in one’s lifetime. She has a habit of sticking her fingers up her nose, as 60 percent of her facebook photos indicate.

Treasurer: Lane Blake

Lane Blake is an international man of mystery. Part rumor, part fable, all man. He’s done stints as a Professional Civil War re-enactor, a needlepoint instructor, and an underwear model. And that was just during his 1L year. He enjoys competing in athalon style competitions and hails from Wyoming. This summer he worked a big boy job at a Local Law firm. He and his wonderful wife Whitney explore the countryside together, staying in roadside inns and eating local. He is often mistaken for a cowboy.

3L Representative: Kelley Brandstetter

Kelley Brandstetter was born to dance. And so dance she did, first in recitals (Swan #3 in Meadowbrook Kindergarten’s “Swan Lake”) and then as Beatrix Bel Geddes in “The Zigfeld Follies of ‘98″ which ran in Branson, MO for well over two weeks (opened for comedian Yakov Smirnov’s 9:30am show-Danger, Explosive Laughter!). Other than that, her childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon…luge lessons. Despite her love for all that is dance, she came to law school and joined Law Review, where her article “Impermissible Joinder and the Art of Modern Ballroom” was met with mixed reviews last spring. But she’s not gonna rest until her twinkle toes Pas de basque across the stage at hooding next May.

3L Representative: Maureen Bickley

Don’t be fooled by her height—this feisty lady has a softball throw that will make your hand tingle. A member of UC Law’s prestigious Law Review Staff, Maureen once placed third in a Fred Durst lookalike contest. Also a mighty fine dancer, this Capital University grad frequents Put In Bay and enjoys long flights on private jets. This summer, she toured as Lion (Fleetwood Coupe de Ville) in an off off Broadway production of “The Wiz.”

2L Representative: Erin Moosbrugger

Hailing from the great metropolis of Dayton, OH, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty, Erin came to Cincinnati law after 4 years of studying Human Rights at the University of Dayton. Using her “save the world” mentality to get her through the day to day rigors of law school, she also enjoys schooling numerous males in the game of basketball, dance parties, and performing the song Gangsta’s Paradise whenever she gets the chance. This summer, she worked for Amnesty International in New York City where she lived in a convent and spent her days working on various human rights campaigns as well as getting lost in Chinatown. She loves talking to cab drivers and will put Chipotle Tabasco sauce on just about anything.

2L Representative: David Sturkey

A renaissance man from Erie, PA, Dave prides himself on his knowledge of wine and women. With a serve like Andy Roddick and basketball skills that are reminiscent of a WNBA player, Dave’s natural athletic ability is just as strong as his love for Ohio State football. But Dave isn’t just brawn–his giving and caring spirit is evident in his every day work this summer for the Ohio Innocence Project. He also enjoys Chipotle Tabasco sauce, but can’t handle the heat as well as his colleague, Erin. This is the only known photograph of David Sturkey.
